We aren’t sure if it is just the pandemic and the solitude of so much time spent in shutdown, but Fairmont music alumni just keep churning out new music and you should really take a listen!
Recently Sam Bennett dropped a new album of Piano music on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon . The album is titled “A Place in the Woods.” Sam was a member of the Fairmont band program where he played trombone and piano. Sam currently studies music at Wittenberg University.
Michael Berning, the Kettering Schools Coordinator of Music recently helped Sam get connected with another alumni, John Gentry. John is the new KCS Performing Arts Facilities Manager and a freelance recording engineer among many other things (@JGentryMusic). John recorded the album for Sam late last year. Speaking of John Gentry, John and another Fairmont alumni Dane Linder recently released a new single on spotify titled “Tonight.” You can check it out here. Dane and John coincidentally both played trumpet at Fairmont to varying degrees at one time :-)
Speaking of trumpet players, another former Fairmont trumpet player from a seriously musical Fairmont family also released some new music. Spencer Boden relased an album of 24 songs with the title “The Least Worst of Spenny Boden” Take a listen here.
Finally, Sophie Lockhart (no she never played trumpet, but her brother did) has released another single titled “Glory to His Name.” Sophie was a standout saxophone player at Fairmont and studied music at Lee University. She currently lives in Butler, PA where she is a Worship Leader at @FirstChurchButler. You can also check her music out on Spotify here.
