Stevin Crane was hired as an elementary music specialist in the Summer of 2021 after serving as a long term substitute in the Kettering City Schools. Stevin has been deeply involved in music from the age of five. He began teaching choirs and voice lessons when he was 16 years old, learning piano along the way. He has led singing groups with recording credits and is well-versed in studio recording and editing technology.
Stevin attended Stivers School for the Arts in Dayton as a high school student, concentrating on Choir and Band as a percussionist. He started his studies at Sinclair in music education and transferred to Wright State University where he completed degrees in Music Performances and Education.
Mr. Crane has been a leader in music ministry in several area churches since the age of 18 where he oversees choir, band, drama, and dance. He also directs local musicals and is a performing member of the Dayton and Cincinnati Opera Choruses. Mr. Crane is active in the Ohio Music Education Association and continues studies in Orff and Kodaly music education.
Stevin will serve on the faculties of Beavertown and John F Kennedy Elementary Schools with the support of principals Carmella Friz, Laura Meek, and Music Coordinator Michael Berning.
