The Kettering City Schools offer a comprehensive music program to all students in grades K-12. The music curriculum is delivered by a staff of 20 certified music specialists. All students in grades K-8 receive or elect general music instruction. Instrumental music is offered beginning in the 6th grade. Approximately fifty percent of the middle school student population elects participation in band, orchestra, or chorus. A comprehensive band, orchestra and chorus program has resulted in nearly 800 students taking part in one or more of the over 20 performing ensembles at Kettering Fairmont High School.
