The Marching Firebirds is the most visible group of the Kettering Fairmont High School Band Program, and one of the most notable organizations in Kettering. With 200+ students participating each year, it is the largest student extra-curricular in Kettering City Schools, and one of the most diverse and active in regards to student population, activities, and community outreach.

While marching band is an extra-curricular activity, students who participate in the Kettering Fairmont High School Marching Band are required to also be in one of the Concert Bands, which meet as a class daily.

The mission of the Marching Firebirds is to achieve the highest standards of music education through music performance and athletic excellence; facilitate the musical enrichment of the student membership of Kettering Fairmont High School, promote the place and value of music in our community and the significant role music plays in the cultural, intellectual, and social lives of our students; foster and promote positive and meaningful interactions amongst peers, & provide its membership with opportunities for personal growth and leadership.
