The KFHS Music Honor Society is a program dedicated to the recognition of exceptional music students in grades 10–12 that meet the music, academic, leadership, and character criteria asked of every Tri-M member. Tri-M is a program of the National Association for Music Education, which is the largest arts education association in the world. The minimum national criteria for Tri-M candidate consideration include: enrollment in at least one music class for at least one semester, have at least a 2.3 GPA in my core classes, and a 3.5 in my music class(es), and at least a B average in either Music Theory and/or IB Music if participating in one of these classes. Our KFHS Music Honor Society: love, preservation, and stewardship of music. Our goal is to serve and positively impact our community and students through music. This year, we hope to raise enough money to provide scholarships for music lessons at the middle school and high school levels. Additionally, we hope to raise enough money to provide a scholarship for a graduating senior. If you would like to contribute to our scholarship fund, we have a container in the lobby or you may contact the music department or myself. Last year, we held our inaugural ceremony inducting 13 members: five seniors and 8 juniors. This year we are inducting 7 seniors, 16 juniors, and 17 sophomores for a total of 40 new inductees and 48 members total! All spanning orchestra, band and choir. Many of these students perform in multiple ensembles and extracurricular activities both in our school and across the Miami Valley.
