Mr. John Gentry will be joining the Kettering City Schools as the Performing Arts Facilities Manager effective August 1, 2019. His responsibilities will include the administration and operation of the new Fairmont Auditorium, Fairmont Recital Hall, KMS auditorium, and the Van Buren auditorium. Mr. Gentry will also serve as the technical director for performances and ensure the safe operation of all equipment by students and staff.
Mr. Gentry is a 2003 graduate of Kettering Fairmont High School where he participated in choirs, musicals, and Eleventh Hour. While earning a bachelor's degree from Wright State University in Accounting and working in that field, Mr. Gentry continued to be heavily involved in the arts. Following a love for music technology, he built a recording and audio business that served students in Kettering and many other schools across the state.
Mr. Gentry lives in Kettering with his wife and two sons, and enjoys playing guitar and producing music in his free time. He is excited to bring his passion for excellence in music technology to the Kettering performing arts programs.
The Music Department would like to thank the Kettering City Schools Board of Education and administration for their continued support of music education and the performing arts. Please help us welcome Mr. John Gentry to the Firebird Family!
